Decks built
to last a
Calgary winter.

From a brand-new cedar deck to a pergola, privacy screen, or backyard shed — outdoor structures that make a yard yours, in pressure-treated, cedar, or composite. Forty years of doing it right.

Build, or repair?

Sometimes it's a fix.
Sometimes it's new.

A lot of the time, a deck can be patched up and kept going — and if that's the call, we'll make it. But there's a point where a fresh build is the better spend, and we'll be straight with you about which side of that line you're on.

When the framing or footings have gone, or you want more space or a different shape than the old one allowed, a new build gets you a deck that's right from the ground up — not a repair stacked on a tired structure. Use the list to your right as a starting point.

— Forty years of building decks. We know when new is worth it.

Good reasons to build new
  • Framing or footings gone When the structure underneath has rotted or shifted, patching the surface only buys a little time. A new build starts solid.
  • You want more space or a new shape If the old footprint never quite worked, building fresh lets us lay out the deck around how you actually use the yard.
  • Composite for far less upkeep If you're tired of staining every few years, a new composite deck trades the maintenance for boards that hold their look.
  • Adding a pergola, seating, or privacy Big additions are often easier and cleaner to design into a new build than to bolt onto something already standing.
  • Starting fresh after a tear-down If an old deck is coming down anyway, it's the natural moment to build the one you actually want in its place.
  • A newly built backyard deck

    construction.

A deck built right from the footings up, sized and shaped around how you actually use your yard. We work in solid wood or composite, simple single-levels or something that steps and wraps — and it's built to stand up to what the seasons throw at it out here.

    • Custom woodPressure-treated, cedar, or redwood, your call.
    • CompositeTrex, Fiberon, or TimberTech for low upkeep.
    • Multi-level decksStepped levels that follow your grade.
    • Wraparound decksDecking that turns the corner of the house.
    • Rooftop decksUsable space built up over a flat roof.
    • Floating decksLow, free-standing platforms near grade.

    Deck upgrades
    & additions.

You don't always need a whole new deck — sometimes the one you've got just needs to do more. We add the built-ins, shade, and screening that turn a plain platform into a spot you actually want to spend time, matching the existing deck where it makes sense.

    • Built-in seating & storageBenches and boxes worked into the deck.
    • Pergolas & shade structuresOverhead framing for cover and shade.
    • Privacy screens & latticeScreening to close off sightlines and wind.

    structures.

The freestanding builds that round out a backyard — a shed to get the clutter out of the garage, a gazebo to sit under, a playhouse for the kids. Same framing and finish work as the decks, scaled to whatever the yard has room for.

    • ShedsStorage you'll actually use, built to fit the lot.
    • GazebosA roofed spot to sit out of the sun or rain.
    • PlayhousesA small build the kids can call their own.
    How a build works

    From idea
    to finished deck.

A new build is a bigger job than a repair, but the path is straightforward — and you're dealing with the same person from the first call to the final walkthrough.

    01

    Get in touch

Tell us what you're picturing. A rough idea, a sketch, or a photo of the spot all help us get the lay of the land.

    02

    Free quote

We come take a look, talk through what's possible, and put together a written quote — free, with no obligation.

    03

    Design & materials

We settle on the layout, pick the decking and finish, and sort out anything the city needs before a board goes down.

    04

    The build

Footings, framing, decking, and railings, in order. We keep the site tidy as we go and send photos along the way.

    05

    Clean up & walkthrough

Scrap hauled off, site swept, and a walk around the finished deck together to make sure it's right.
